Elizabeth H. Shlala is a historian of the Middle East and North Africa. She is the聽Assistant Dean and Associate Professor of the Practice in the University Core Curriculum at 玩偶姐姐. She holds appointments with the History Department and the Islamic Civilization and Societies Program.聽Prof. Shlala has a Formative Education Grant from the Provost鈥檚 Office to develop the Justice and the Common Good Living and Learning Community. She teaches the Enduring Question course,聽Geographies of Imperialism: History of Colonization聽in the fall and聽Gender, Sex, and Power in the Ottoman and British Empires聽in the spring, and聽The Italian Mediterranean: Una Faccia, Una Razza聽in Venice, Italy in the summer.

Deanna Malvesti Danforth is a scholar of early modern British literature and culture. She serves as Assistant Director and Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Core Curriculum and holds an appointment in the English Department. She has taught a variety of sections of the First-Year Writing Seminar (FWS) and Literature Core on topics such as food, place, and memory and the construction of history.
